We’re pleased to announce that Parkhaven Trust has registered as a Disability Confident Committed employer with the UK Government’s Department for Work and Pensions. Disability Confident organisations play a leading role in changing attitudes for the better.
What is Disability Confident Committed?
The Disability Confident Committed Scheme is a voluntary government initiative designed by employers and disabled people’s representatives to help employers recruit and retain people with disabilities and health conditions.
Through the Disability Confident Committed Scheme, we are working towards becoming more aware of our responsibilities to disabled workers and individuals with long-term health conditions. We are investing in how we attract and retain these individuals by:
- challenge attitudes and increase understanding of disability
- draw from the widest possible pool of talent
- secure high-quality staff who are skilled, loyal, and hard-working
- improve employee morale and commitment by demonstrating fair treatment
It also helps identify employers committed to inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
Why did we join the scheme?
We are committed to recruiting and retaining exceptional individuals. By being part of the Disability Confident Scheme, we aim to demonstrate our dedication to supporting people with disabilities or long-term health conditions in the workplace, whether they are prospective employees or are already part of our team.
We believe that everyone, regardless of disabilities, should have the opportunity to pursue a role they are passionate about in an organisation where they feel supported and valued.
Our commitment includes actively encouraging applications from individuals with disabilities and long-term conditions and ensuring they feel welcomed in the workplace.
